Salvation

God created everyone to have a relationship with Him.  But the problem is that all of us have sinned against God and lost that relationship with Him.  God is perfect, and He cannot allow any sin into His presence.  The Bible tells us that the penalty for sinning against God is death.  That doesn't mean simply dying physically, but it also means that we will die spiritually, too.  If you die in your sin, you will be separated from God forever in a place called hell.  God never intended for you to be separated from Him!  He wants to restore a relationship with you so that you never have to be separated from Him ever again.  Since we can't do anything to change the fact that we are sinners, God had to take drastic action in order to pay the penalty of sin for us.  God sent His One and Only Son Jesus to live a perfect sinless life and die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin.  The Scriptures tell us that Jesus was dead and buried, but that He rose again from the dead on the third day.  He is alive!  And because He is alive, He can give you the guarantee that your sins are forgiven and that you will never be separated from Him ever again.  This gift is for everyone, but only those who take advantage of God's offer to receive His Son as payment for their sin will be saved.  Those who choose not to accept this offer will not be saved.  So how do YOU accept this free gift from God?  It's as simple as ABC.

The first thing you must do to receive God's gift of salvation is this:

A=  Admit to God that you are a sinner and that there is nothing you can do to earn salvation.

Romans 3:23 says,  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23a says,  "For the wages of sin is death..."

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not

by works, so that no one can boast."

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Having read these verses, do you believe that you are a sinner and that there is nothing you can do to earn salvation?  If so, then the

second thing you must do to receive God's gift of salvation is this:

B=  Believe that Jesus came from heaven to earth, lived a perfect sinless life, and died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but

                  have eternal life."

Romans 6:23b says, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Having read these verses, do you believe that Jesus is God's One and Only Son, that He came and lived a perfect sinless life,

that He died on the cross to pay for your sin, and that He rose from the dead?  If so, then the third thing you must do to

receive God's gift of salvation is this:

C=  Confess your sin to God, turn away from your sin, and commit your life completely to follow Jesus.

Romans 10:9-10--  "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the

dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you

                   confess and are saved."

2 Corinthians 5:15, 17--  "And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for

them and was raised again... Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;  the old has gone, the new has come!"

Having read these verses, are you ready to confess your sins to God, to turn away from your sin, and give your life totally and

                   completely to Jesus?

If so, you can pray and receive the gift of salvation right now.  But remember:  It's not the words that you speak that save you.  Jesus saves you, and it happens the moment you surrender your life to Jesus!  Will you give Jesus your heart right now? You can do that by praying this simple prayer (or something similar to this):

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I am separated from You because of my sin.  I know that there is absolutely nothing I can do to save myself.  I believe in my heart that You came, lived a perfect sinless life, and died on the cross to pay for my sin.  Right now, I ask You to forgive me of my sin.  Lord Jesus, I invite you to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior.  I surrender my life completely and totally to you.  I choose to give up living my way and to live for you from this day forward.  Thank you for saving me.  In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer and meant it with all your heart, we believe that you now have a relationship with God.  The first thing that God wants you to do is to tell someone about your commitment to Jesus.  The Bible says that if you confess that you know Jesus to men, that He will confess that He knows you to God the Father.  But if you do not confess that you know Jesus to men, that He will not confess that He knows you to the Father.  So it's very important that you tell someone that you gave your life to Jesus.  Would you send us an e-mail and let us know that you invited Jesus to be your Lord and Savior?  Would you tell one of our staff members about your commitment to Jesus?  We want to rejoice with you that you are now a believer in Christ!

Then, you need to find a Bible-believing church that will teach you and help you to grow as a new Christian. You can plug into our church, or you can find a church that is closest to you.  The important thing is that you continue to develop your relationship with Jesus every day.  He saved you so that you can live totally for Him.  And He loves to spend time with you!  We are excited that you have given your life to Jesus!!!!
